For restructuring advisors

Consistent answers for every party in a restructuring

Lenders, committees and counsel all want answers on the same timetable. Ontu keeps each matter's inbox, calls and data room together and drafts the first reply.

Where it hurts

Three problems this buyer knows well

Many parties asking the same question

Lenders, committee advisors, counsel and the board each ask about the same numbers in their own words. Answers drift between them unless someone checks every reply against the last.

Timetables set by someone else

Covenant dates, forbearance expiries and court calendars don't move because the team is stretched, and information requests pile up in the days before each one.

Promises made on calls

Daily management calls and weekly lender updates produce commitments that sit in individual notebooks until someone asks where they stand.

Across the spectrum

From performance improvement to plan confirmation

Restructuring covers very different mandates. What they share is a lot of parties, a lot of documents and a short clock, which is where Ontu helps.

Performance improvement

A turnaround PMO runs on weekly status calls and a long list of owners and deadlines. Ontu turns each call into a summary with tracked tasks, then drafts the data requests and updates that follow, citing the document behind each figure.

Working capital optimization

Cash release programs involve finance teams, procurement and dozens of customers and suppliers. Ontu keeps the thread with each counterparty in the project inbox and drafts replies from the latest figures in the data room, so the team can see which asks are still open.

Debtor-side advisory

Management and the board field lender questions while still running the business. Ontu drafts responses to information requests from the company's own documents and prior answers, flags anything it can't support, and records the board and lender calls.

Creditor-side advisory

Ad hoc groups, agents and committees send long diligence request lists and read what comes back closely. Ontu tracks each request against the response and the document behind it, and drafts the follow-up emails for the team to review.

Out-of-court restructurings

Forbearance agreements, amend-and-extend deals and exchange offers are negotiated with several constituencies at once, often under confidentiality. Each matter gets its own workspace, and a person reviews and sends every outgoing message.

In-court restructurings

From the first-day hearing through plan confirmation, committee, lender and creditor correspondence rises sharply. Ontu drafts the routine replies from the record so the team can concentrate on what the court calendar demands.

A worked example

A lender asks for an updated cash variance at 6pm. A draft is ready by 6:01pm.

  1. 01

The request reaches the matter's project mailbox, and Ontu reads the thread along with the lender group's earlier questions.

  2. 02

It drafts a reply from the latest weekly reporting package and prior answers to the group, citing each source.

  3. 03

One variance explanation isn't supported by any document in the data room, so it's flagged for the finance lead instead of guessed at.

  4. 04

Whenever the advisor is free, they check the draft against what other parties were told last week, resolve the flag and send it from their own address.

A person reviews and sends every outbound message. Ontu does the first pass.
